Dad was looking for an reliable GBC module. He found this UpSweep module from Sam Friesen: https://youtu.be/C57ZZx8jQwA
Rebuilding it with the digital model provided by Sam (link to the LDD file in the description part of the YouTube video) wasn’t difficult.
Dad did two changes to the original module:
- Enlarge the entry bin; it should be 10×10, and now it has 11×9.
- Add overload protection for the drive train; we changed two small gears by a clutch gear. Because now the mechanic only transports about 50 balls a minute, we tripled the transportation axles.
A very useful side affect of Sam’s construction of the entry bin is that it is elastic, so the falling ballS don’t jump.
Conclusión; Sam designed an easy and cheap to build module, which is very reliable. Thanks!
